Vintage Scheurich 242-22 West German Pottery Vase - Mid-Century Red & Brown Banded Ceramic

A striking vintage West German pottery art ceramic vase, sourced directly from Detling Antiques Fair. Handcrafted by the famous manufacturer Scheurich during the peak mid-century era, the base features the clearly impressed model number "242-22" alongside the genuine "W. Germany" stamp.
This popular cylindrical form features a brilliant, rich banded glaze. A bold, fiery volcanic red central band is framed by frothy, textured tan borders, all set against a heavily speckled, dark chocolate and cocoa brown matte background. It is an exceptional, atmospheric example of brutalist-influenced retro styling.
It is in very good vintage condition with a deep, impactful finish. True to its age and authentic historic use, there is a tiny, single flea bite chip on the outer edge of the top rim (indicated in the close-up photograph). This is exceptionally minor, does not compromise the structure or display value of the piece, but is declared for complete transparency. There are no actual cracks or restorations. Please see the listing photographs with the visible ruler for exact scale.
