Vintage Hart's of Sheffield Silver on Copper Tray - Chased Chippendale Style Drinks Salver

An exceptionally heavy, premium vintage English silver-plated on copper round drinks tray by the regarded workshops of Hart's Silversmiths, Sheffield. This substantial salver features a heavily cast, high-relief ornate floral, leaf, and scroll border framing a deeply chased center field filled with intricate foliate scrolls and traditional cross-hatch diapering panels. Constructed with a thick layer of silver over a solid copper base, it possesses the wonderful weight and structural presence characteristic of high-quality Sheffield manufacturing.

The reverse is clearly stamped with the maker's mark: "HART'S THE Sheffield England Silversmiths" alongside "MADE IN SHEFFIELD ENGLAND, SILVER PLATED ON COPPER".

This tray is in very good structural condition with a robust, heavy feel and a bright polished luster. Reflecting its age and honest domestic use, the face exhibits some distinct, heavy black pitting and tarnish spots clustered primarily around the center field, as clearly detailed in the close-up photographs. The underside shows typical light surface wiping scratches from careful cleaning over the years. These cosmetic marks offer an authentic, time-worn character highly favored for curated displays.
