Featuring the distinctive L&YR "lollipop" silhouette, these rugged plates were bolted directly onto the heavy iron levers pulled by the signalman to control track points and trackside signals. The prominent embossed numerals 80 indicate the specific master lever number. Because the lower tail of this plate remains blank, it designates that Lever 80 operated as a primary or "free" action within the box, requiring no mechanical interlocking sequence to release it.
