Art Deco Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co. Regent Street Silver Plated Entree Dish (c.1930)
An exceptionally fine and highly prestigious antique English silver-plated (EPNS) rectangular entree dish manufactured by the world-renowned Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company of 112 Regent Street, London, dating to the Art Deco period circa 1930.
This luxury presentation piece showcases a striking geometric Deco silhouette, defined by clean lines and crisp, concentric tiered reeding framing the base rim, the dome cover, and the stylised handle. The original decorative twist-lock handle is fully detachable, allowing the lid to be inverted and elegantly utilised as a secondary matching open serving dish.
The underside is deeply and cleanly stamped with the elite retailer's full hallmark: "GOLDSMITHS & SILVERSMITHS COMPANY, 112 REGENT STREET. W" alongside the specific design production number 8870.
Condition Report:
This superstar piece is in good antique condition, presenting a brilliant, high-shine mirror polish to both the interior and exterior surfaces. Unlike typical domestic hollowware of this age, it remains nicely preserved with some light black pitting, no bubbling, and no significant silver plate breakthrough. It displays only the light surface cleaning scratches consistent with careful historical use and light handling over the decades. A nice example of London luxury silversmithing. Please consult the pictures and video for detailed condition.
