This beautiful antique silver plated finger chamberstick is a classic piece of period lighting tableware. Sourced at the prestigious Ardingly Antiques Fair, this set comes complete with its original matching conical candle snuffer which sits neatly in its dedicated side rest.

The underside of the base features an excellent set of crisp pseudo hallmarks alongside the initials "JB & S" for the renowned Sheffield silversmiths John Batt & Sons, a design patent stamp number "242", and an engraved star emblem. The tray features an elegant beaded rim that catches the light beautifully alongside the reflecting surfaces of the central sconce.

The piece presents in honest antique condition with a highly authentic, characterful patina. As expected from a genuine domestic item of this vintage, it is slightly battered and gently out of shape around the tray rim, with light surface pitting and fine cleaning scratches across the silver plating. These honest imperfections reflect its historic utilitarian life and add immense charm and country-house character to the display.
