Antique Roberts & Belk Sheffield Silver Plate Salver Bleeding Copper Drinks Tray

The tray features a beautifully executed "Chippendale" style shaped and molded rim. The central reservoir is delicately engraved with a continuous band of scrolling foliage, stylized lattice work, and floral cartouches. Decades of honest domestic polishing have gently thinned the silver plate along the inner molded channels, allowing the golden, warm base metal to "bleed" through to the surface. It creates a stunning, multi-toned patina that modern reproduction pieces completely fail to capture.
