Vintage Viners of Sheffield Silver on Copper Gallery Tray - Chased Round Drinks Salver

An exceptional vintage round gallery tray by the highly regarded British silversmiths Viners of Sheffield. This premium piece is from their upscale heritage line, manufactured as a faithful reproduction of the historic 18th-century "Old Sheffield Plate" process. Constructed with a heavy layer of silver fused over a solid copper base, this tray is built to the traditional high-end standards of classic Sheffield manufacturing.

The tray features a beautifully detailed, pierced gallery rim with a beaded border framing a spectacularly chased centre field of dense floral scrolls, foliage, and geometric cross-hatch panels. The centre includes an un-engraved circular cartouche ready for a personalised monogram.

The reverse is deeply and clearly stamped with the premium circular workshop mark: "Reproduction of Old Sheffield Plate", "Viners Ltd, Made in Sheffield England", followed by "E.P. ON Copper", "Chased", and the individual factory workshop mark "B".

Condition Report:
This tray is in very good vintage structural condition and presents beautifully with a wonderful bright lustre. True to its age and functional nature, the front surface shows a few tiny, localised black tarnish/pitting spots within the chased scrollwork (clearly highlighted with the pen in the close-up photographs) alongside honest surface cleaning micro-scratches from careful use over the decades. The silver plate remains remarkably thick across the main chased face and gallery, with no bubbling.
