Vintage Square Base Baluster Brass Candlesticks - A Patinated Pair

While circular-based brassware has a tendency to feel somewhat fluid, square-based candlesticks always carry an appealingly architectural, grounded presence. This vintage pair of cast brass candlesticks features a heavily multi-knopped baluster stem that rises from a stepped, square footprint.

Unmarked by any factory or trade stamp, they possess a pleasingly warm, unpolished golden patina that instantly tells you they spent their life on a genuine mantelpiece rather than wrapped in modern retail plastic. They are slightly more compact and slender than their circular cousins, making them exceptionally well-suited for smaller dining tables or narrow window sills.

Honest Anatomy:
In keeping with their vintage history, this pair is entirely honest about its age. The brass surfaces show an assortment of fine surface scratches, minor dings, and localized spots of historic oxidization, particularly nestled into the deeper crevices of the knopped stems. Crucially, the square base edges show light, gentle warping and tiny edge indentations from decades of being tapped against iron ranges or stone hearths to clear old wax. Both sticks stand straight and are structurally solid.

Dimensions:
• Base: 8.5 cm x 8.5 cm (approx. 3.3 x 3.3 inches)
• Total Height: 20 cm (approx. 7.9 inches)
