An exceptional mid-century modern art pottery statement floor jug manufactured by the legendary West German pottery house, Scheurich Keramik. This imposing model 429-45 features a large-scale pitcher silhouette finished in the highly collectible "Granada" design scheme. The lower portion is wrapped in four distinct horizontal bands of deeply molded geometric relief medallions, finished in a wonderfully tactile mustard-ochre glaze. This sculpted texture balances beautifully with the smooth glaze of the upper neck and prominent integrated handle.
The base features the clear, authentic moulded stamp reading "429-45" and "W. GERMANY". Sourced directly from the Ardingly Antiques Fair, this striking piece represents a definitive era of 1970s continental design history, perfect for mid-century or bohemian interior styling.
Presented in good, structurally sound vintage condition with an attractive bright glaze finish. To ensure absolute transparency as a business seller, we note two minor production-related aesthetic anomalies highlighted with a pen in our detail photographs:
- There is a small indentation on the mid-rim which is a factory mold flaw; this occurred prior to firing and is completely glazed over rather than a post-production chip.
- There is a small surface-level black firing mark embedded within the ochre glaze from the original factory kiln process.
