Vintage English Silver Plated on Copper Basket with Swing Handle - Pierced Bon-Bon Dish
£29.95
An exceptionally stylish vintage English silver-plated on copper circular cake, fruit, or bon-bon basket, featuring a tall, elegant folding swing handle. This lovely piece displays a beautiful plain mirror-finish central field framed by a distinct border band of crisp, vertically pierced gallery slots and a classic beaded outer rim. It is highly versatile and serves as a wonderful presentation dish for serving chocolates, baked treats, or fresh berries, adding a classic touch of traditional English table charm to a tea setting or dining table.
The underside of the rim is clearly and cleanly stamped with the premium manufacturing composition mark: "SILVERPLATE ON COPPER, MADE IN ENGLAND" alongside an individual workshop initial mark "I".
Condition Report:
This basket is in very good vintage structural condition with a beautiful bright shine and a strong, smooth hinge action to the swing handle. Reflecting its history as a functional serving piece, the main interior face exhibits some honest localized light surface scratching and fine cleaning scuffs from historical handling, as shown in the close-up photographs. The thick silver plate remains completely sound with no major breakthrough, no bubbling, and no black pitting.
