Vintage Barker Ellis Silver on Copper Coffee Pot and Engraved Tray

Serving modern coffee from a clinical plastic press entirely misses the theatrical potential of a Sunday morning. This vintage presentation pairing consists of a short, beautifully chased coffee pot and a matching oval gallery tray, both bearing the pedigree of Barker-Ellis. While they may have begun life in separate sets, they match each other's ornate, heavily engraved scrollwork and floral motifs seamlessly.

The pot is fitted with a beautifully carved, insulated wooden handle to protect your fingers from the heat. The base of the tray carries the definitive, prestigious "Barker Ellis England E.P.C.A." stamp with their signature menorah emblem. The "E.P.C.A." designation denotes Electroplated Copper Alloy, a high-quality process where silver is fused directly over a robust copper and brass core.

Honest Anatomy:
This duo has spent its life being polished and loved, resulting in a beautiful, historic "copper bleed" where the warm, reddish hue of the underlying base metal is peeking through the high points of the engraving on the pot's lid and rim. The tray shows localized spots of black pitting to the central well and light surface scuffing from decades of service. Crucially, the interior of the coffee pot is entirely blackened and oxidized from old coffee oils and historic metal reactions.
