Large Vintage West German Floor Vase – Scheurich 239-41

One must respect the unblinking, structural ambition of Scheurich when scaling up their operations to the true floor vase. Standing at an imposing forty-one centimetres, this substantial specimen—molded in the elegant, flared-rim 239-41 form—is a commanding slice of 1970s continental design that refuses to be ignored.

The vase features a beautifully resolved, three-tiered gloss run glaze. A clean, sandy beige lower third anchors the piece, rising into a dark, scorched-earth espresso boundary line, before opening up into a highly vibrant, warm ochre and rust-toned upper body and neck. The interior is fully glazed in a contrasting dark brown. It is a heavy, exceptionally stable piece of mid-century ceramic architecture, perfectly suited for holding an expansive arrangement of structural branches or simply occupying a corner of a room with quiet, brutalist dignity.

Condition:
In remarkable vintage condition, particularly for an object of this scale. The high-gloss glaze retains its original brilliance and depth across the entire body. The unglazed base rim shows entirely typical, honest shelf friction and minor scuffing from decades of being moved across parquet and carpets—saving you the profound worry of inflicting its very first mark. Free from chips, hairline cracks, structural fractures, or modern interventions.
