The model 268-40 is a beautifully imposing, ribbed tower that relies on structure rather than loud colour to make its mark. The body is divided into five distinct horizontal bands, each deeply moulded with a repeating geometric relief pattern that feels distinctly brutalist.

The glaze is a brilliant study in earth tones—a glossy chocolate brown collar that gives way to a warm mustard-ochre glaze over the relief panels. The dark brown pooling in the geometric recesses emphasises the architectural depth of the moulding. It makes an exceptionally strong standalone statement on a brutalist mantlepiece, a retro sideboard, or mixed into an active collection of West German Art Pottery. The underside is crisply moulded with the unmistakable "268-40" form code and the "W. GERMANY" signature.
