An exceptionally attractive antique English silver-plated (EPNS) 4-slot toast rack manufactured by the prestigious Sheffield silversmiths John Biggin Ltd (J B & S). Dating to the late Victorian or Edwardian period, this premium piece features five beautifully formed cathedral-style arched dividing bars rising from an open base frame uniquely accented with a decorative, scalloped-wave lower apron border. The rack is crowned with a highly tactile, continuous heart/kidney-shaped central loop handle and stands firmly on four integrated corner bracket feet. This elegant piece serves as a highly commercial, functional desk organiser for letters, postcards, or luxury stationery.

The side of the base frame features exceptionally crisp, deeply struck hallmarks, displaying the "EP" grade mark, the "J B & S" maker's initials, their signature trumpet-with-banner heraldic trademark, and the design production reference number 998.

Condition Report:
This rack is in excellent antique condition and has been professionally polished to a brilliant, high-shine mirror reflection. The silver plating remains remarkably thick and uniform throughout, showing no bubbling, no black pitting, and no major breakthrough. True to its age, it displays only the lightest, most negligible surface cleaning micro-scratches from careful handling over the decades. The structural frame is perfectly straight, level, and all solder joints are completely rock-solid.
