Antique Henry Wilkinson Sheffield Silver Plated Toast Rack - 4-Slot Teardrop Handle Letter Rack (c.1900)

An exceptionally fine antique English silver-plated (EPNS) 4-slot toast rack manufactured by the historically prominent Sheffield silversmithing firm Henry Wilkinson & Co. Dating to the late Victorian or early Edwardian era, this elegant piece features five smoothly arched, cathedral-style dividing wires rising from a minimalist, clean-lined open base bar frame. It is crowned with a striking, elongated teardrop or spade-shaped central loop handle and stands firmly on integrated corner bracket feet. This premium, heavy-quality piece is an ideal decorative desk accessory for organising letters, incoming mail, or luxury stationery.

The underside of the base frame is deeply stamped with the firm's classic hallmarks, displaying their signature heraldic crest trademark (a crown over a stork/crane), followed by a sequence of four gothic "EPNS" cartouche stamps and the design production reference number 635.

Condition Report:
This rack is in very good antique structural condition, presenting a beautiful, bright silver mirror lustre. True to its authentic age and functional domestic history, the polished surfaces display honest light surface micro-scratches and minor surface scuffs from historical handling and cleaning over the generations. The silver plating remains thick and complete across the frame with no major breakthrough, no bubbling, and no black pitting. The structural alignment is perfectly straight, level, and all joints remain rock-solid.
