Vintage Viners of Sheffield Silver on Copper Gallery Tray - Chased Old Sheffield Plate Reproduction

An exceptional vintage round gallery tray by the highly regarded British silversmiths Viners of Sheffield. Far from being a modern laminate, this premium piece comes from their upscale heritage line, specifically manufactured as a faithful reproduction of the historic 18th-century "Old Sheffield Plate" process. Constructed with a heavy layer of silver fused over a solid copper base, this piece is built to the traditional high-end standards of classic Sheffield manufacturing.

The tray features a beautifully detailed, pierced gallery rim with a beaded border framing a spectacularly chased center field of dense floral scrolls, foliage, and geometric cross-hatch panels. The center includes an unengraved circular cartouche ready for personalization.

The reverse is deeply and clearly stamped with the premium circular workshop mark: "Reproduction of Old Sheffield Plate", "Viners Ltd, Made in Sheffield England", followed by "E.P. ON Copper", "Chased", and the production workshop mark "O".

Condition Report:
This tray is in excellent vintage structural condition and presents beautifully with a wonderful bright luster. True to the premium "silver on copper" construction, the silver plate remains incredibly thick and complete across the chased face and gallery, with no bubbling and no black pitting. The base shows light and honest surface cleaning micro-scratches and minor superficial scuffs consistent with careful domestic use over the years. A superb, display-ready example.
