A classic vintage Hornsea Pottery ceramic sugar canister, sourced directly from Detling Antiques Fair. Designed by John Clappison, this piece features the iconic, highly collectible "Heirloom" geometric pattern in the popular Autumn Brown colourway. The base is clearly stamped with the authentic "Hornsea England 1973 Heirloom" maker's mark.
The canister features an stylized, interlocking relief pattern glazed in a rich, glossy caramel and deep chocolate brown. It is fitted with its original oiled teak wood lid and white rubber sealing ring, epitomising the premium quality of 1970s British kitchenware design.
It is in very good vintage kitchen-used condition. The ceramic body is immaculate with a brilliant glaze and no chips or cracks. The original teak wood lid seals perfectly, but features a small chip and historic wear to the underside rim (clearly shown in the close-up photographs). This does not affect the external display, structural integrity, or suction of the seal, but is declared for absolute transparency. Please see the listing photographs with the visible ruler for exact scale.
