Vintage English Silver Plate on Copper Round Drinks Tray - Chased Floral Serving Salver
£39.95
A beautifully proportioned vintage English round serving tray crafted with a heavy-weight silver plate layer over a solid copper base. This elegant salver features a wonderfully wide, smooth plain outer rim that perfectly frames an intricately chased centre field. The engraving showcases sweeping baroque-style foliate scrolls, detailed floral blossoms, and classic textured background diapering panels surrounding a smooth, unengraved central cartouche. Its substantial structural presence and generous size make it a highly practical addition to a formal dining table setting or an absolute centerpiece for a vintage home bar trolley display.
The reverse features a clean, uniform finish and is stamped with the crisp block lettering composition mark: "SILVER-PLATE ON COPPER, MADE IN ENGLAND".
Condition Report:
This tray is in excellent vintage condition with a beautiful, high-shine mirror luster across the chased center and wide border. The thick silver plating remains exceptionally sound with no bubbling, no breakthrough revealing the copper core, and no significant black pitting spots. As an authentic pre-owned piece that has seen careful domestic handling, it displays only light, negligible surface cleaning micro-scratches consistent with honest age.
