Antique French Market Enamel Canister Set - Nesting Kitchen Storage Jars

A beautiful, highly collectible set of five antique graduated enamelware kitchen canisters. Sourced at the Sunbury Antiques Market, these jars were acquired directly from a specialist importer who brought them over from France.

The base features an authentic stamped blue maker's mark consisting of a heraldic crown above a double-lion crest with the prominent initials "BB" (for BB Frères), a premier manufacturer highly celebrated for producing exceptional, heavy-gauge enamelware during the early 20th century.

The set includes five nesting canisters traditionally labeled in French crimson text: Sucre (Sugar), Farine (Flour), Café (Coffee), Pâtes (Pasta), and Poivre (Pepper). Each white enamel canister is detailed with bold red hoops and features traces of original, elegant gold pinstriping, which has worn away evenly across most of the set over time, leaving a beautiful ghosting effect.

The canisters present in honest, characterful antique condition. The enamel surfaces display standard, authentic wear, including superficial chipping to the rims and lid edges as expected with genuine domestic kitchenalia. The interiors remain clean and solid with only light, historic staining.
