This footed bon-bon basket—turned out by the celebrated workshop of Cooper Brothers—is a remarkably charming example.
The basket is designed with a flared, scalloped rim punctuated by panels of pierced geometric fretwork that play beautifully with the light. It stands on four modest ball feet and is fitted with a fully articulated, central swing handle that moves with a pleasing smoothness.
As a piece that has spent several decades being useful, the interior base of the bowl shows localized surface wear to the silver plating from years of hosting confectionery. Far from ruining the piece, this honest "bleeding" to the base nickel silver simply confirms it spent its life at the center of the table rather than being locked away in a cupboard. It remains a thoroughly splendid, tactile choice for serving chocolates, hosting keys on a hallway table, or presenting small holiday treats.

Historical Details & Maker

• The Maker: Cooper Brothers, Sheffield, England (C BROS).
• Material: Heavy Electro-Plated Nickel Silver (E.P.N.S.).
• Era: Early-to-mid 20th Century (c. 1930–1950).

Condition & Specifications

• Features: Articulated swing handle, pierced decorative rim, four integrated ball feet.
• Condition: Good vintage condition.
