One had to select a candle, strike a match, and accept the gentle, moving shadows that followed. This pair of hand-turned oak candlesticks serves as a solid, tactile bridge to that more patient era.
Turned from substantial pieces of English oak, they feature a deep, satisfying barley twist stem that catches the light beautifully, showing off a warm, dark honey grain. The wide, stable bases are designed to catch stray wax before it meets your polished surfaces, while the brass sconces at the top are firmly set to receive standard dinner candles.
They carry the reassuring weight that only genuine timber provides, entirely devoid of the lightweight fragility found in modern repro alternatives.
Condition Report:
In honest, stable vintage condition throughout. The oak possesses an excellent, deep patina earned from decades of gentle handling. The brass inserts show minor, sensible oxidisation and traces of historic wax, which we have left exactly as found to preserve their character. The green felt pads on the bases are intact, ensuring your furniture remains entirely free from scuffs.

Dimensions

• Height: Approx 7.5 inches (19 cm)
• Base Diameter: Approx 4.5 inches (11.5 cm)
