This antique two-fold pocket rule extends to exactly one foot (12 inches), serving as a wonderful testament to late 19th or early 20th-century workspace pragmatism.

Constructed from dense, honey-coloured boxwood, the rule is bound together by its original, solid brass central pivot hinge and matching brass end tips. While it lacks an explicit maker’s stamp, the hand-stamped alignment dots and the deeply incised, clear imperial markings give it a fine, anonymous dignity. It folds smoothly and carries a beautifully rounded, low-slung presence that makes it just as compelling as a desktop paperweight or architectural accent as it is a functional pocket measure.

Condition:
Presented in lovely, honest antique condition. The boxwood has acquired a rich, deep amber patina and minor surface tracking from decades of real workshop handling, saving you the absolute misery of keeping a pristine tool immaculate. The brass hinge has an unpolished, muted olive oxidation and holds its position beautifully when half-opened for display. All imperial markings remain perfectly legible.

Dimensions:
• Extended Length: 12 inches (approx. 30.5 cm)
• Folded Length: 6.25 inches (approx. 16 cm)
• Width (Folded): 2 cm

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1010/9317/9722/files/IMG_0308_85aee907-b58d-4eee-850a-3bbad4460a39.jpg?v=1793198387
https://aniceoldthing.com/products/antique-boxwood-and-brass-1-foot-folding-rule-two-fold-pocket-pocket-measure
